Okay, I had to post this one today because I simply felt remiss to NOT have something related to the solar eclipse that occurred this morning across Asia, and this is the best I had. It was not so dramatic in Hong Kong as in Mainland China and India, but exciting none the less, and very cool to see lots of kids out on the street with their viewing apparatuses (apparati?)

I had no idea how to shoot directly at the sun and was ill-prepared, not to mention it being at my lowest performance time of the day further limiting my adaptability. Enough excuses. This is the best evidence I have that I saw the eclipse so I am going with it.

It was a rad start to the day and won’t be happening again for quite a while so… come on, that’s bitchin’. This shows the sun’s silhouette through a pinhole when the coverage was at about the maximum around 9:25 a.m. Beijing Hong Kong Time.

[As an aside, ‘eclipse’ is a word that I have been typing all day and have not typed correctly ONE time. Apparently my fingers go dyslexic over that word. Strange. Or… is it the curse of the Drunken Astronomers?]
