Okay, so, again I am still (obviosuly) working things out with this lens… However, I had to use this shot tonight. I spent my evening being VIP’d at Cinecitta for a paired wine tasting and fantastic dinner with Camellia and Frenchie. Stefano was awesome, and it is always great to be treated like a movie star – man, the Italians know how to work it! Following a most excellent meal (I had the sea bass and it was delicious – and don’t even get me started about the tiramisu – or the brutally romantic story of the desert’s origins in Venezia) Frenchie and I decided to avoid a sweaty jungle walk and take a sampan home.

As always happens when I want to get home more expediently than usual, we were stopped by the police to check the boat credentials, so while we were waiting I snapped this photo of our host/captain. This was the my second shot, the first was more candid but he liked this one better. After he gave me the thumbs up, he took out his ID to show us, and though he speaks no English, it was fairly clear that he was indicating that his ID is the only photo he has of himself.

I am going to bring him a copy of this one tomorrow so he can have a new one.

It is nice to end a great night with killer smiles.
